Microsoft Surface Go2 Specs Leaked - and it can shatter iPad air

A new iPad vs Surface war is brewing. According to a newly leaked spec list, the upcoming machine is ready to crush Apple's slim tablet with a gutsy Windows 10-powered upgrade.

We've already seen previous rumors that the Surface Go 2's Intel Core m3-8100Y processor will run 8GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD unit, which would be a major upgrade from the previous model.

And now, information on what is believed to be the full specs has been released by Twitter user _rogame, who confirmed that there will be two options.

The top model will have:

And the base option:

Both machines will run on full Windows 10 64-bit, giving access to all Windows 10 apps, including Adobe Photoshop.

The current Surface Go starts at $399, although MSRP has not yet been determined. It seems logical that Microsoft will keep this price for the new version. If so, it would trump the iPad Air (and the base iPad) in terms of specs and flexibility.

The iPad Air starts at $499 for a model with only 64GB of storage and $649 for a 256GB SSD model; both iPad Air models have only 3GB of RAM, but even with the overhead of Windows 10, the Surface Go 2 should be a faster machine, capable of opening more programs and web browser tabs at once. The Surface Go could also be a strong alternative to the iPad, which starts at $329 with 32GB of storage and Apple's A10 chip.
