Amazon Prime Pantry Suspended: What to Do Now

Amazon Prime Pantry Suspended: What to Do Now

Amazon Prime Pantry is "temporarily closed" and not accepting new orders due to a surge in coronavirus-related demand.

The Prime Pantry's website, which normally displays all the fresh produce Amazon Prime members can order, is currently "busy replenishing."

According to the site, items labeled as "shipped and sold from pantry" cannot be added to the Amazon cart. However, if you are already expecting a Prime Pantry order, you should be able to receive it while the company works to fill its shipping backlog.

There is no information on the site to suggest when Prime Pantry orders will resume. However, it does state that the company is "working with our partners to get these items back in stock as soon as possible."

The Prime Pantry is one of several Amazon food-related services, but the only one that is currently shutting down operations. Amazon still offers some of the best grocery delivery services, including Amazon Fresh and Prime Now. One can also buy Whole Foods Market directly online.

The news comes after an employee at an Amazon factory in New York tested positive for COVID-19. The company is facing numerous delivery delays and reduced inventory, despite stating that it plans to hire temporary staff to handle the recent surge in demand. The company is also currently limiting shipments of non-essential goods.

If you normally rely on Prime Pantry for certain items, consider alternatives such as Instacart or Walmart Grocery Instacart uses personal shoppers to pick up items for you from local stores and Walmart Grocery delivers everything sold at Walmart right to your door in this age of social distance.

Also, according to the EPA, there is a guide to where you can buy the best coronavirus cleaning products.
