Motorola Edge Plus Leaked: Your best look yet at Galaxy S20 rivals

Motorola's return to flagship smartphones continues to draw attention, and the upcoming release is increasingly likely to be a rival to Samsung's Galaxy S20.

Our latest glimpse at what Motorola may be planning for the rumored Moto Edge Plus phone came from leaker Evan Blass, who tweeted what appears to be an official rendering of the upcoming phone.

While there are no specs attached to these photos, they do give us a better sense of what the Moto Edge Plus could look like and what color variations it could be available in.

Photos of the Moto Edge Plus in Blass' tweet show the model in maroon and silver blue. Otherwise, the rendered images are consistent with the details we heard in previous Moto Edge Plus leaks: three cameras stacked vertically on the back of the phone, a waterfall display on the front, and a punch hole for the front camera in the upper left of the display.

We have previously seen rendered images of the Moto Edge Plus. However, these images were posted on Pricebaba by phone tipster @OnLeaks and were based on leaked specs. However, these new images appear to be the real McCoy, suggesting that the Moto Edge Plus will be announced sooner rather than later.

Motorola has a full lineup of mid-range and budget phones, but has not offered a flagship device in years. The phone maker's top-of-the-line Moto Z series supports a number of add-ons that attach to the back of the phone, but it does not have the processing power found in major Android phones.

That is likely to change with the Moto Edge Plus, which, according to these leaked images, appears to have a lot in common with the best Android phones like the new Galaxy S20 lineup. [The Moto Edge Plus is powered by the Snapdragon 865 mobile processing platform, the same chipset as the Galaxy S20 and LG V60 ThinQ 5G. [This is the same feature set found in the Google Pixel 4 and OnePlus 7T. It is also expected to feature a 5,000 mAh battery and a triple camera, centered around a 108-megapixel main sensor and a 25-megapixel front camera.

Will it be enough to put Motorola back in the forefront of Android flagships, and when the Moto Edge Plus makes its official debut, its true value will be revealed.
