Samsung Disinfects your Galaxy S20 (or any other phone) to Fight the coronavirus

Samsung is offering Galaxy S20 owners, or owners of other phones, a free sanitization service to keep users' devices clean.

SamMobile reports (via 9to5Google) that users in the U.S. and 18 other countries can call one of Samsung's Service Center of Experience stores to have their phones, whether they are Samsung models or not, UV-C light disinfection. Samsung promises that this treatment will kill 99.9% of germs on your device.

This Samsung ad was found on a local Malaysian site (see below), but is no longer listed anywhere on Samsung's site. However, a cached version of the page can still be found.

You don't have to buy anything to get the service, but if you're just calling for a new accessory (maybe a new Galaxy Buds Plus) or looking enviously at your Galaxy S20 Ultra, you might as well get your phone cleaned in the meantime!

This service is available for a fee.

The service is currently not yet available in the UK, but is on the list of 25 countries where the service will be rolled out "soon."

The use of light to remove microscopic nekkers is far superior to the use of traditional abrasives and disinfectants, as it is the only method guaranteed not to damage the oil-repellent coating that protects the phone's display from dirt and grime.
