Samsung Galaxy Note 20 design makes Galaxy S20 look boring

With the launch of the Galaxy S20 series, Samsung fans are now focusing on the Galaxy Note 20. After witnessing a major step up in technology and design between the two generations of the standard flagship, everyone is curious to see what another large Samsung phone will look like.

This design by Concept Creator aka Jermaine Smit, posted by LetsGoDigital, shows us what Samsung's next stylus-wielding phablet will look like. Handsome, to be sure, but one or two details confuse us.

The design on the front of this Galaxy Note 20 is very similar to that of the Galaxy S20 series, but the rounded corners have been replaced with sharper right angles, which makes the phone look sleeker and more mature. The curved edges are gone, but the Infinity-O (aka punch hole) display is once again used. Samsung hopes the Note 20 series will offer a 120Hz refresh rate like the S20 series. [The smallest Galaxy S20 is 6.2 inches and the largest Galaxy S20 Ultra is 6.9 inches, so the 6.3-inch and 6.8-inch Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10 Plus don't feel so big anymore.

Oddly, the concept places the cameras in a horizontal row at the top center of the phone's back; it looks more like last year's Galaxy S10 than the Note 10 or S20. It would be quite odd if Samsung would actually go back to this design, especially if they wanted to include the large periscope zoom camera of the Galaxy S20 Ultra. However, the more symmetrical look makes this concept look more balanced from the back than any version of the S20.

Of course, since this is a Galaxy Note series phone, the S-Pen is back. It looks rather skinny in this rendering, but we expect more unique capabilities to be added to the stylus. For example, last year's Note 10 introduced air gestures. Ice Universe has also leaked that the Galaxy Note 20 is codenamed Project Canvas, which could mean a major upgrade to the S Pen is on the way.

A version of this stylus is also said to be bundled with the Galaxy Fold 2 foldable, allowing it to take full advantage of its massive foldable display.

This rendering is of the standard Note 20, not the larger Note 20 Plus version; there are no rumors of an equivalent "Ultra" version as seen with the S20, but like the S20 the Note 20 series will be available in 4G and 5G .

Whether this design is accurate or not will become clearer around August, whatever the Note 10's announcement last year. Samsung could certainly do worse than to offer us a phone like the one Concept Creator has presented here.
