James Bond has no time to die Nokia's first 5G phone: Here's when you can get it

In one scene from the upcoming James Bond film "No Time to Die," the new 007 agent Nomi says, "36 hours of tracking and I'm still going strong," while the camera shows a 20% battery charge in the corner of her Nokia-branded cell phone.

The phone may actually be the new Nokia 10 (previously rumored to be Nokia 9.2), and its blatant product placement may mean that the battery life of this device is 2 days.

Let's hope that is a real feature and not some fancy spec made up by Q.

Nokia's first 5G phone (due March 19 from manufacturer HMD Global) will feature prominently in the female Bond's debut. Our sister site TechRadar got an early look at the phone in a 90-second teaser video made from a clip from the film. That's a lot of footage for a mere product placement.

According to our colleagues, the teaser shows Agent Flea using the "Google Assistant" to display photos, navigation directions, and send voice text messages. The clip follows the Bond-themed launch teaser and is clearly reminiscent of the iconic moving target intros from past 007s.

There is little information about the Nokia 10 beyond suggesting a 48-hour battery life; the 5G-connected device will have you downing juice faster than Sean Connery downing a dry martini.

In the video, a teardrop-shaped selfie camera can be seen inside a full-screen display that covers nearly the entire front of the phone, except for a small bezel adorned with the Nokia logo. It appears to be a taller phone as well. Like the latest Sony Xperia handset, this mysterious Nokia device appears to have a 21:9 aspect ratio panel.

On the back, there is a circular camera housing protruding from the device's blue body; while the Nokia 9 Pureview had five lenses, the Nokia 10 appears to have four lenses and an LED flash. There is no information on the camera, but according to another product plug in the film, it appears to have macro, wide-angle, portrait, and night modes (see below).

There is also a fingerprint reader just below the notch; no in-display fingerprint recognition for 007.

Other than that, there is nothing else of note to see. Due to Coronavirus concerns, the film's release has been pushed back from its original April 10 US release to November 25, but we'll have to wait for the Nokia 10's March 19 launch to get a proper picture of the company's first 5G flagship.
