iPhone12Pro Leak Reveals How Apple Beats Samsung Galaxy S20

The iPhone 12 camera has to be something special; there were no major issues with the iPhone 11 Pro's triple rear sensors, but now that the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra with its 108MP sensor and Space Zoom has arrived, the pressure is on.

That's why we are very interested in hearing the latest leaks from prolific leaker Max Weinbach, as YouTuber EverythingApplePro said in a new video.

After using the same 12MP resolution for the camera since the iPhone 6S, Apple may finally upgrade to a substantial 64MP sensor for the main lens. That would put it ahead of many rivals, including the 48MP Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20 Plus, but it would still lag behind the 108MP Galaxy S20 Ultra, at least in terms of raw megapixels.

While the iPhone 12 Pro will keep the same triple camera array, it will also reportedly have a time-of-flight sensor, according to Weinbach. This is something we've heard and suspected before, so it's good to have it reconfirmed: with the addition of a TOF sensor, the iPhone 12 Pro would theoretically be able to create more compelling portraits and would also perform much better when running AR apps.

Apple's Night Mode is currently only available on the main sensor, but the iPhone 12 will reportedly extend the feature as well. According to Weinbach, the telephoto and ultra-wide-angle sensors will have the ability to use low-light mode in the camera app, making these sensors more versatile.

Overall, the ultra-wide camera could improve low-light photography, with the aperture widening from f/1.8 to f/1.6, allowing more light into the lens for brighter shots.

Various other leaked information from Weinbach includes an improved HDR mode, or "Smart XDR" in Apple marketing terms.

The iPhone 12 Pro Max will also have a 4,400 mAh battery, an increase of about 400 mAh over the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

In addition, there have been repeated rumors that Apple will include a 120 Hz display and a 5G-capable modem in the next iPhone, which would be an important change since the Galaxy S20 series already includes these two features.

And what about the 12-inch and later iPhones? Apparently, Apple is considering improving Face ID to work via a periscope module. Apple is currently one of the only manufacturers that seems to be sticking with the notch for a long time, so any effort to make it less obtrusive would be welcome.
