Samsung's 2020 QLED TV has these killer features

Samsung has released all the meaty details of what customers can expect when they pick up Samsung's new QLED TVs this year.

We had a rough overview of the Samsung 2020 TV lineup, but we got a better sense of pricing and the unique features of the expanded 8K QLED offerings and top-class 4K QLED sets.

The 2020 8K QLED series (Q950TS, Q900TS, and Q800TS) features Object Tracking Sound Plus, which is powered by speakers on the front, sides, and back of the set. The result is an immersive soundscape that follows the movement of objects on the screen.

When we went hands-on with the Samsung Q950 8K QLED for review, we thought the Object Tracking Sound Plus would bring killer audio to a top-class set. We also found that the backlighting in the 8K lineup uses localized power distribution to increase the brightness of individual lighting zones by up to 20%. As a result, the 8K QLED set delivers a great image with improved color quality and brightness through quantum dot enhancement using Samsung's QLED technology.

What also makes the Q950 special is its ultra-slim form factor, which allows it to be installed flush with a wall. The bezel-less appearance of Samsung's Infinity Screen will make most people watching TV think they see nothing but the screen.

Samsung's 2020 4K QLEDs (Q60T, Q70T, Q80T, and Q90T) enhance the company's AI capabilities with a number of brand enhancements: an entry-level version of 8K object tracking sound, on-screen audio clarity that adjusts based on ambient noise You will see adaptive sound and active voice amplifier technology that adjusts the clarity of on-screen audio based on ambient noise.

Similarly, adaptive picture optimally adjusts the picture settings to the lightning conditions surrounding the set.

Q70 and higher models also introduce Ambient Mode Plus. Ambient Mode is a feature that brings TVs and smartphones together by offering easy photo uploading, filters, and a gallery option that creates custom picture layouts based on the number and ratio of selected photos. Ambient mode adds decorative features to the TV even when content is not being viewed.

All of Samsung's 4K and 8K QLEDs this year come with a rich software starter pack; with Samsung TV Plus, you can watch over 100 channels of streaming content across all genres. It is free and ready to use right out of the box without additional devices or paid subscriptions.

The 4K and 8K QLEDS will also feature Samsung Health, the company's new interface for fitness information and training guidance. It syncs with the phone's health app and provides integrated routines for personal schedules; Samsung Health also provides free access to wellness content from partners like Calm, Fitplan, and trainer Jillian Michaels

All 4K and 8K QLEDS will work with voice assistants Bixby, Alexa, and Google Assistant.
