WhatsApp Dark Mode is nowhere for everyone

WhatsApp, the immensely popular messaging app owned by Facebook, is finally here after rumors and beta testing.

With a blog post and announcement video, WhatsApp has officially announced the dark theme. Previously an option only for registered beta users of Android phones, any iOS and Android user will be able to try the new theme.

According to WhatsApp, updates to the app, including dark mode, will be available "soon" for both Android and iPhone.

In its blog post, WhatsApp explains its design decisions, saying that it believes the app will remain easy to read and understand with the new color scheme.

In the near future, the WhatsApp desktop app will also be adding a dark mode.

To enable dark mode for WhatsApp, simply enable the dark mode setting from your device's main options menu if you are running Android 10 or iOS 13.

If you are using an older version of Android, you can still use themes, but you will need to go to the "Chat" menu from the app settings. Then tap on "Themes" and select "Dark." older versions of iOS do not have a WhatsApp dark mode option.
