The Galaxy Watch Active 2 lineup is growing. Samsung has added two new models of its recently released wearable to challenge the Apple Watch in the ongoing battle for best smartwatch.

Samsung's Galaxy Watch Active 2 LTE Aluminum model and Galaxy Watch Active 2 Golf Edition expand the company's current offerings with special designs. Both were released exclusively in South Korea, but may soon be available in Europe and the US.

As its name suggests, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 Golf Edition is for golfers. While there are many watches dedicated to golf, such as the Garmin Approach S60 and Garmin Approach S20, Samsung's new model appears to be just a golf feature added to an existing wearable.

The Galaxy Watch Active 2 Golf Edition features a golf shot distance tool and a smart caddy with maps of more than 40,000 golf courses around the world; it is available in a 44mm aqua black finish and a 40mm pink gold finish, with the former priced at $325 and $295 for the latter. For reference, these costs are comparable to Garmin's mid-range golf wearables.

The Galaxy Watch Active 2 LTE Aluminum, on the other hand, is positioned to compete with the Apple Watch; the Galaxy Watch Active 2 LTE Aluminum supports phone-free Internet connectivity, making calls and sending messages from the wrist, and send messages from your wrist. It comes in three similar colors, aqua black, cloud silver, and pink gold, and is priced at $295 for the 40mm version and $325 for the 44mm version.

Samsung told The Korea Herald that the Galaxy Watch Active 2 Golf Edition model will eventually be introduced in the US and UK, while the Galaxy Watch Active 2 LTE Aluminum model will be introduced in Europe and some Asian countries.

It is unclear whether the standard Galaxy Watch will arrive in these countries before receiving its successor, which may be announced at Samsung's upcoming Note event.
