Hbo Max Friends Reunion: Release Date, Cast and Everything You Need to Know

Want to feel old? It's time for the 16-year "Friends" reunion special. That's right, the actors who made the fictional coffee house Central Park a household name are back one more time, this time on HBO Maxx.

Warner Media Group announced in a press release that the cast of Friends will return for an "untitled unscripted special" on the upcoming streaming service. The cast will return to Stage 24 at Warner Bros. Studios, where the show was filmed decades ago.

The series, which ended in May 2004, has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity on Netflix.

The "Friends" reboot is one of the first launch event titles that Warner Media hopes will encourage HBO Max subscriptions. In addition to the "Friends" reunion special, all 236 episodes of the NBC sitcom will stream on the service.

When HBO Max debuts, the "Friends" reunion will be available for you, but it is not yet known when exactly that will be. The streaming service is slated to launch in May 2020, but the specific date is not yet known.

We will update this guide as information becomes available.

Since the reunion special seems to focus on all six friends returning to the same room, we don't know if we can expect any other appearances. Certainly, we'd be horrified to hear if Janice (Maggie Wheeler) still has the characteristic laugh that irritated Chandler when he wasn't in love with her, but that's more of a reach than a certainty.

We would also like to see Gunther (James Michael Tyler) again, beyond the "What Happened to Gunther from Friends?" videos that litter YouTube.

This is the entire cast and crew of the Friends reunion as currently known:
