Were you one of the thousands of Samsung Galaxy owners who received a strange notification from Samsung's "Find My Mobile" app last week? According to Samsung's statement, your personal data may have been compromised at the same time.

Late last week, a large number of users on Reddit and Twitter reported receiving a mysterious push notification on their Samsung devices that simply said "1/1." While many brushed it off as a simple server glitch during internal testing, several readers wrote in The Register, claiming that they were able to see a stranger's personal data after receiving this notification.

In a statement to The Register, Samsung confirmed that the data breach had indeed exposed the personal information of "a small number of users."

"As soon as we became aware of the incident, we removed the ability to log into the store on our website until the issue is fixed," read Samsung's statement to The Register. The South Korean cell phone company also said it plans to contact those affected for more information.

It is unclear how many users were affected by the Samsung leak and what personal information was exposed. If you received the mysterious 1/1 notification, you may want to update your Samsung account password to be safe; Find My Mobile is a stock app for Samsung devices that can be disabled but not completely removed.
