Hulu Gets exclusive Rights to Parasites in Blow to Netflix

Hulu has scored a major victory in the world of streaming media. Yes, just as Academy Award-winning director Pong Joon-ho took a shot at the Oscars, Hulu has snatched his directorial effort "Parasites" from Netflix and Prime Video.

The film, which centers on the penniless Kim family, who achieve great success by fooling the rather simple-minded Park family, comes to Hulu on Wednesday, April 8. Parasite is currently available on traditional digital streaming platforms such as Apple and Amazon, and is also available on Blu-ray.

What is director Pon Joon-ho's other filmography? According to the guide to where to stream Pong Joon-ho's films, Netflix has "Snowpiercer" and "Okja"; Tubi and Hoopla have "Sea Fog" and "The Host"; and Hulu has "The Host" on Netflix and "The Beast" on Tubi.

Not that Hulu doesn't have movies, but this is a big win for the streaming service. Netflix and Prime Video, on the other hand, pack in so many movies that no one has time to watch them.
