Netflix's The Witcher Season 2 casts Game of Thrones fan favorites

Production has officially begun on Season 2 of The Witcher, and Netflix announced the news by revealing who will join the cast of the popular fantasy show. The most prominent of the new cast members is "Game of Thrones" scene-stealer Christopher Hivu (Tormund Giantsbane) as Niveren.

Yes, the man who chased Brienne of Tarth around Westeros and its surrounding cities and islands is joining one of Netflix's best series. The Witcher debuted in late 2019 and was a nice holiday gift not only to existing fans of the popular game and novel, but also to those who didn't even know what The Witcher was.

Hivju is just one of seven newly announced cast members, including Paul Brion ("Peaky Blinders") as Lambert and Aisha Fabianne Ross ("Danish Girl") as Lydia.

An email sent by the press confirmed that Joey Beatty will stay on as Jaskar, as will the three main cast members we already knew: Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Charotra as Yenefer, and Siri Freya Allan.

Showrunner Lauren S. Hisrich said in a Reddit AMA that the new cast will include LGTBQ+ characters, but did not reveal who those characters will be in the full list and email.
