Netflix is likely to get Diablo and Overwatch shows soon

One of Netflix's best shows, The Witcher, is so popular that Netflix seems to be diving headfirst into more game shows. And shockingly, we found evidence of its next show in the place where people looking for news about streaming and gaming are least likely to visit: LinkedIn.

Nick Van Dyke, president of Blizzard Studios (and Activision, too), has updated his LinkedIn bio with what sounds like early publicity, writing about shows based on two Blizzard properties: overwatch and diablo It is.

According to the first note, he is "executive producer of Diablo, an anime-style television adaptation of Blizzard Entertainment's IP. The show is currently in pre-production through Netflix."

The second drop in Van Dyke's profile states that (with a creative partner) he "developed and marketed an animated series based on Blizzard's 'Overwatch' franchise. This does not confirm that Netflix is the production partner for Overwatch, but his profile also states that he sold another show (based on "Skylanders") to Netflix, so it is clear that Van Dyke is a wizard in the House of N!

Why would Netflix and Blizzard postpone such an announcement? We too are puzzled. The only thing I can come up with is that they are waiting for a trailer to visually sell people on the show.

Oh, and this anime-style Diablo show makes a lot of sense for Netflix, which is launching "Castlevania" Season 3 on March 5.
