All the OnePlus8 specs have just leaked and it contains 1 cool surprise

The new OnePlus 8 line is almost here. The drip of leaked information continues, and we have a pretty good idea of what the new OnePlus devices will look like, price, and key features, including one cool surprise.

In a nutshell, the OnePlus 8 will cost $499, the OnePlus 8 Lite $549, and the OnePlus 8 Pro $799, all with Snapdragon 865 chipsets and AMOLED panels with 90Hz and 120Hz refresh rates.

And here's a cool surprise. According to reliable rumor-monger Max J, the new phone is waterproof.

TechRadar speculates that the phone may have an IP68 rating, meaning it can withstand 30 minutes under 2 meters of water.

The remaining purported OnePlus 8 information comes from online store Giztop, and we are not 100% sure if this information is authentic. That said, here is what the outlet lists:

The OnePlus 8 Lite has a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. It also features the MediaTek Dimensity 1000 chipset, a low-cost ARM chip. On the back are 48MP, 16MP, and 12MP sensors. On the front, there is a 16MP selfie sensor that peeks through a center punch hole. It also has 8GB of RAM, 128GB of solid-state storage (256GB option also available), a large 4,000mAh battery, 30W USB-C fast charging, and Android 10 for $499.

The regular OnePlus 8 has been replaced by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 from the lower-cost MediaTek. The screen is also larger, with a 6.55-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel and a 90 Hz refresh rate.

It runs Android 10 and is said to have 48MP, 16MP, and 12MP sensors. On the front is a 32MP selfie camera; RAM is available in 6GB, 8GB, and 12GB; the base model with 6GB and 128GB of storage (256GB is optional) costs $549. All are powered by a 4,000mAh battery capable of 30W fast charging.

Finally, the OnePlus 8 Pro is said to use the same Snapdragon 865 chip, but the 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen has been upgraded to a 120Hz refresh rate; the Pro model has 60MP, 16MP, 13MP sensors, theoretically a significant improvement over the cameras. A 32MP selfie camera is mounted in a punch hole in the left corner.

The improved refresh rate has also increased the power specs, with 4,500mAh and 50W fast charging. As for memory, the base OnePlus 8Pro comes with 8GB of RAM (12GB optional) and 128GB of storage (256GB for the top-end model) for $799.

While the specs are out of this world and nowhere near the level of the Galaxy S20 Ultra, the OnePlus 8 line should be another solid budget flagship device like the People Fab Series 7, especially the OnePlus 7 Pro.

All are expected to have 5G connectivity (even the Lite has a chip with integrated 5G).

There will be a long (and likely) wait to get these; the OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 debuted on May 14, 2019, so we can (hopefully) expect a similar date for the OnePlus 8 line.
