The new iPad Pro is getting a release date of 3 May

A repo on Apple's supply chain suggests that a new iPad Pro may be coming this spring.

The DigiTimes report on Apple's iPad Pro plans doesn't say much. However, this news site reports that "Apple plans to launch a new iPad Pro series around March." Production began around the Asian Lunar New Year vacation, and production has been gradually ramping up in recent weeks, MacRumors first discovered the DigiTimes report.

Reports that Apple's tablet will launch in March are consistent with what others are saying about plans to launch an iPad Pro product. Late last month, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted a March 2020 launch date for the new iPad Pro model, which was last updated in late 2018.

The new tablet is rumored to feature the triple rear camera array that Apple introduced last fall with the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max models. Additional reports indicate that the next iPad Pro may also feature a 3D time-of-flight sensor to aid in portrait photography and augmented reality apps.

Other iPad Pro rumors from the past week point to Apple producing a 5G model of the tablet, but that version is unlikely to appear before fall. Apple has yet to even manufacture an iPhone that can connect to a 5G network, but this feature is expected to be a key feature of the iPhone 12 to be released this fall.

It could be a busy spring for Apple, and the company is reportedly working on a new version of the iPhone SE. According to other reports circulating today (February 17), this model will be called the iPhone SE 2 or iPhone 9 and is expected to appear in March.
