This crazy iPhone12 design has a built-in projector and no notch

Some iPhone 12 rumors are credible. A new CPU? Built-in projector and sub-display selfie camera? Not likely, but we like the sound of it!

These last two wild features come courtesy of a new unofficial-but-great-looking trailer made by Hasan Kaymak for ConceptsiPhone (via T3). We're pretty sure that these aren't going to come to the iPhone 12 (or indeed any iPhone ever, as far as we know), but we enjoyed this fake teaser so much we had to talk about it.

This fancy iPhone has a fingerprint sensor for security under the display and a selfie camera that we've only seen on Oppo and Xiaomi test models so far.

Meanwhile, the "projection mode" feature allows both the screen and keyboard to be displayed, making it suitable for both typing and gaming as it can be operated with a tap like a regular panel.

In terms of modest specs, the concept has a 4,150mAh battery capacity, which is about right. It also retains the 5.8-inch OLED display that Apple has used in its smaller iPhones since the iPhone X. It also has a 6.1-inch Super Retina OLED display, which is the same size as the iPhone 11 but without the LCD. The concept also adds a USB-C port in place of the Lightning port, which may have to happen thanks to a recent EU ruling on the universal use of USB-C.

Meanwhile, the design takes some cues from older iPhones, changing the current iPhone's rectangular volume buttons to circular and removing the curved edges in favor of flat sides. On the back, meanwhile, the square camera patch introduced in the iPhone 11 series has been moved from the upper left corner to the center of the upper third of the phone and placed in a horizontal row. Nevertheless, it is still a triple-camera array, so even the imagination of rendering artists does not extend to Apple's use of a time-of-flight sensor in its next phone.
