Your iPhone9 pre-order may come with free AirPods

The iPhone 9 (aka iPhone SE 2) should be Apple's first smartphone of 2020 and will be priced very aggressively. And it may come with a good bundle deal too.

According to MySmartPrice, Korean telecom retailers have posted iPhone 9 pre-order posters, suggesting that the phone may come with Apple's very popular AirPods.

The iPhone 9 is expected to feature the fast A13 Bionic processor in a design reminiscent of the iPhone 8 with a 4.7-inch display and Touch ID sensor. This could be one of the best budget phones of the year.

This would be a very aggressive deal, but it is not clear if the free AirPods with pre-order is specific to this Korean carrier, Apple's own offering, or something they will approve for US carriers.

The AirPods are among the best wireless earbuds you can buy, thanks to their ease of pairing, good sound quality, and battery life. They are currently priced at $139 with a regular charging case and $169 with a wireless charging case. My guess is that this promotion should include the former.

Although not mentioned in this new report, another recent leak points to a possible iPhone 9 Plus/iPhone SE 2 Plus model, which would have a slightly larger 5.4-inch display and a fingerprint sensor built into the power button. In other words, the power button would be unnecessary.

Apple is rumored to release the iPhone 9 as early as March, but it is not clear how the coronavirus will affect its release date. One analyst has stated that the outbreak could reduce iPhone production by as much as 10%.
