Apex Legends Season 4 Battle Passes, maps, the Revenant, and Everything you Need to know

Can you believe it: three-on-three combat, unique characters, gorgeous lore, a ping system, a plethora of weapons, and of course, satisfying sliding.

To celebrate this anniversary, developer Respawn has rolled out a new season of content featuring new lore, weapons, and battle paths, in addition to changes to the World Edge map and other collectibles. Whether you're already playing or thinking about playing for the first time, here's what you need to know about Apex Legends Season 4 - Assimilation.

Tactical: Silence Passive: Stalker Ultimate Death Totem

Initially poking fun at cyborg MMA fighter Forge, respected mercenary Revenant fooled everyone with an unforgettable bloody entrance scene that put an end to the former legend. Sentenced to a lifetime of suffering, Revenant uses his unnatural abilities to terrorize his enemies and defy death.

The Revenant's tactical move, "Silence," involves the robot throwing a device at an enemy and releasing a shockwave that disables his abilities for 10 seconds. In addition to this, his passive move, Stalker, increases his movement speed when crouching and enhances his speed when climbing.

Finally, the Revenant's Ultimate Ability. The former man summons a Death Totem, protecting the user and his teammates from an early game over. Instead of being killed or downed, the player is returned to the totem and can continue fighting.

The Revenant can be obtained by exchanging it for 750 Apex coins or 12,000 Legend tokens.

Apex's second map was largely divided by the introduction of Hammond Robotics' Planet Harvester. This major contraption, introduced by the manufacturing company that made its debut in the Titanfall series, is used to collect precious metals from the planet's core for reasons yet to be revealed.

As a result, Capitol City is divided into two territories, Fragment East and Fragment West, with a river of lava running through the middle. This new change to one of World Edge's most popular locations appears to give players more leeway in either zone, as they can only cross the large fissure by a bridge or zip line over the destroyed skyscraper.

Falling into lava will not kill you instantly, but it will deal 25 damage before you are thrown into the air, giving the enemy a better chance to attack you.

Elsewhere, the snowfield between Epicenter and Skyhook is now known as Survey Camp and features multiple cranes, a new building layout, and a newly installed weapons rack.

Each season brings new weapons to change the player's dynamic, and once again, the new bolt-action sniper rifle, the Sentinel, makes its debut. Dotted around the map, this rifle is the sixth sniper rifle available in Apex, along with the longbow, clubber, charge rifle, triple take, and G7 scout.

The Apex Season 4 Battle Pass features over 100 exclusive items, including Legendary Skins, Apex packs, loading screens, and background music. Upon purchase, the Zero Point R-99 Legendary Weapon skin is immediately unlocked, as well as three other rare skins: Health Drain Lifeline, Blue Steel Crypto, and Team Lift Pathfinder.

In addition, as you progress through the battle path, you will have the chance to unlock legendary skins such as Perfect Soldier Wraith, Cyberpunked Wattson, and Reactive Heavy Metal Flatline.

The Season 4 Battle Pass can be accessed for 950 Apex coins and can also be upgraded to skip the first 25 levels for 2,800 Apex coins. For reference: 1,000 coins cost £7.99/ $9.99/ AU$11.95.

Ranked Mode will now be played twice for 6 weeks per season before a soft reset (lowering players 1.5 levels). The first half will take place at World Edge and the second half will return to Kings Canyon.

A new Master tier will be added between Diamond and Apex Predator, the latter accessible only to the top 500 players by platform.

In a final change, Dive Trails can now only be earned based on the previous season's standings. Dive trails earned in Season 1 or Season 2 are retained forever, but players must now continue to hold a level in order to retain a particular dive trail.

As already mentioned, Apex Legends Season 4 - Assimilation will kick off on the first anniversary of Battle Royale. To celebrate this milestone, Respawn will be giving away a number of gifts when logging into the game between February 4 and February 11, 2020. These rewards include:

Players will receive one of three different Loyalty badges, depending on when they first played the game.
