Disney Plus, Mandalorian S2, Falcon, Winter Soldier, Wanda Vision release date revealed

Disney Plus announced that "The Mandalorian" Season 2 will premiere in October 2020.

During Disney's Q1 earnings call, CEO Bob Iger announced the release dates for the highly anticipated second season of Star Wars and the first two Marvel series, "Falcon and the Winter Soldier" and "Wander Vision."

Iger also provided an update on Disney Plus subscriptions, which was very good news for the company.

During the earnings call, Iger indicated that Mandalorian will continue beyond Season 2 and that Disney Plus is considering spinning off characters from the Star Wars series.

We are voting for an arms dealer spin-off. This is the way to do it.

Disney also announced that 28.6 million people have subscribed to its $6.99/month streaming service. (Disney Plus had 10 million subscribers on its first day.)

Some of these subscribers are Verizon customers who got a year free, and some are bundled customers (those who subscribe to Disney Plus, Hulu, and ESPN Plus).

Currently, Disney Plus is only available in the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand. It will roll out in the UK and Western Europe on March 24.

Disney's goal is to reach 60 and 90 million subscribers worldwide by 2024.

Disney Plus subscribers were not the only good streaming news for the company; Hulu subscribers grew to 30.7 million and ESPN Plus subscribers grew to 7.6 million. Part of this increase can be attributed to the three bundles that Disney is selling for $12.99 per month.
