As we eagerly await the official announcement of the PS5, Sony has released another big preview. The console maker has just launched the official PS5 website, where fans can register to get the latest information about Sony's next-generation console as it approaches its holiday 2020 release.

First spotted on Reddit, the landing page is rather sterile, with only a few lines of text and a sign-up sheet for those wishing to be notified about the latest PS5 news. At the time of this writing, the registration widget was not working and the landing page was 404'd several times.

"We've started to showcase some of the great features you can expect from PlayStation 5, but we're not ready to fully reveal the next generation of PlayStation yet. We'll be sure to keep you up to date on the PS5 release date, PS5 pricing, upcoming PS5 launch games, and much more."

The sudden launch of a dedicated PS5 website has poured more fuel on the speculation surrounding the official PS5 launch event, which has long been rumored to take place in February 2020. Previous rumors had suggested that the full announcement would take place as early as February 5, which is literally one day away, and it is hard to believe that Sony would cancel such an important event without any notice.

What we do know is that the PS5 will be out by the end of the year and promises features such as ray tracing, 8K and 120fps support, and near instantaneous SSD load times. Since Sony is skipping E3 2020, it seems only a matter of time before Sony itself reveals more details about the new console.
