Facebook remains popular despite the fact that it provides your personal information to advertisers to help them offer products and services that may be of interest to you. However, users want more control over their privacy, and Facebook is slowly responding.

In a new blog post, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg writes that the company is encouraging users to review their privacy settings and is introducing some important new settings.

These new features include an activity tool outside of Facebook (see below for more information) and third-party login notifications that let you know that another app is using your Facebook account.

Off-Facebook Activity was first introduced in three countries in August 2019, but is now being rolled out globally. With this tool, you can see what data other sites on the Internet are collecting about you and sending to Facebook.

Most importantly, the tool allows you to delete data, but only certain types of data. Data collected by third parties will no longer be linked to your Facebook account. (The network tracks Facebook members and non-members alike.)

Tracking cannot be stopped completely, but if you wish to minimize it, you can periodically erase your data.

1. From the Facebook home screen, select Settings.

2. Select "My Facebook Information.

3. Select "Non-Facebook Activities".

From here you have three options: manage your non-Facebook activity, clear your history, and more options.

"Manage Non-Facebook Activity" will show you which apps/websites have shared your activity with Facebook; if you select one, you will be able to see how many times you interacted with that app/website and how it was shared, and you will also be able to see which apps/websites you have shared your activity with. You can also turn off Facebook's ability to link future activity from this service to your Facebook account.

Clearing your history will delete the activity from your Facebook account and detach your account from your activity history; Facebook will still get this information, but it cannot be used in combination with your account to target you with ads. to target you with ads.

The other options offer three more settings: "Access my information", "Download my information", and "Manage future activity".

As mentioned above, turning off future activity will prevent Facebook from showing you ads or receiving all your non-Facebook activity information, but it will not be used for personalization purposes. Turning it off will also prevent you from logging into other applications or websites with your Facebook account.
