Disney Plus UK Release Date: Coming a Week Ago Now

We've been following the release date for Disney Plus in the UK for some time now, and now it will be released a week early! Disney has announced that the streaming service will officially launch in the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, and Switzerland on March 24, one week earlier than the previously scheduled March 31.

Additional European markets, including Belgium, Scandinavia, and Portugal, will follow in summer 2020.

The subscription fee for Disney Plus in the UK and Western Europe will be £5.99/€6.99 per month and £59.99/€69.99 per year. This is the same price as Netflix's basic plan in Europe.

Disney Plus launched on November 12 in the US, Canada, and the Netherlands and offers hundreds of original and classic movies and shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars.

These include highly anticipated original series such as "The Mandalorian" and "High School Musical: The Musical Series," as well as back-catalogue content such as "Avengers/Endgame" and "The Lion King: Endgame" and " The Lion King," as well as back-catalog content such as: The Avengers/Endgame and The Lion King.

Disney has reportedly accelerated the launch in the UK and Europe due to the success of its streaming service in the US. The pop culture sensation that is Baby Yoda has also undoubtedly hastened the launch of the service. Here's how.
