The release date of the Galaxy S20 has just leaked

We will get our first look at the Galaxy S20 on February 11. However, it looks like we will not be able to get our hands on Samsung's new flagship phones until a month later.

This is from the French blog Frandroid, which reports that the Galaxy S20, S20 Plus, and S20 Ultra will land in France on March 13. Since Samsung tends to roll out its flagship phones globally, we can assume that this date also covers the US launch of the Galaxy S20 lineup.

Frandroid relies on several sources for information on the Galaxy S20 release. These sources are the same sources that provided the Galaxy S20 pricing information that appeared today. (As a reminder, the Galaxy S20 is expected to cost about 900 euros, while the S20 Plus and S20 Ultra are expected to cost more than 1,000 and 1,300 euros, respectively. Last year, the Galaxy S10 debuted at an Unpacked event on February 20, followed by its launch on March 8. The gap between the Galaxy S9's February 25, 2018 announcement and March 16, 2018 launch was nearly the same. One has to go back to the debut of the Galaxy S8 in 2017 to see Samsung wait more than a few weeks to announce a new flagship model: the S8 was announced on March 29 and shipped on April 21; the S8 was announced on March 29 and shipped on April 21; the S9 was announced on March 25 and shipped on March 16; and the S8 was announced on March 27 and shipped on March 28.

While you may have to wait until you can actually get your hands on the Galaxy S20, no pre-order delays are expected; according to Frandroid, you should be able to order the new phone as soon as Samsung's launch event is over on February 11.

With the Galaxy S20 launch, Samsung is expected to release several models: the 6.2-inch S20, the 6.7-inch S20 Plus, and the 6.9-inch S20 Ultra. the S20 and S20 Plus are expected to be available in both 4G and 5G versions (although the 4G versions may not be available in all countries), while the Galaxy S20 Ultra will reportedly only have a 5G version.

How accurate these reports are will be known in a few weeks when Samsung executives take the stage in San Francisco at the February 11 Unpacked event.
