Amazon is inviting people to wear Alexa on their faces. Echo Frames, Alexa-enabled eyewear supported by Amazon's Day One testing program, are becoming available for purchase for a lucky few customers.

One of them shared the invitation with Droid-life.com:

"Your request for an invitation to purchase Echo Frames has been approved! We hope you enjoy using Echo Frames as much as we did when we invented them.

To accept this invitation, please visit the Echo Frames detail page, add them to your cart, and purchase as usual. You will receive a notification when your order is ready to ship. Please note that terms and conditions apply to invitation-only prices and offers. Invitations will expire 7 days after the invitation is sent due to oversubscription.

By purchasing an Echo Frame during this limited launch period, you agree to receive emails requesting your feedback on the product; as one of the first customers to use Echo Frames, your feedback will be used to help Your feedback will be used to help promote future Echo Frames features."

Another invitee tweeted a screenshot of the email Amazon sent. The subject line read, "You have been selected as a purchaser of Echo Frames."

The invitation allows customers to purchase a one-size pair of Echo Frames for $179.99. Amazon does not meet prescription requirements, so if corrective lenses are needed, customers will need to take the Echo Frames to an eye doctor after receiving them.

I was not at all blown away by the geeky design of the Echo Frames, but after using a pair in person at CES, I was intrigued enough to request an invite last week. Despite being on the crowded show floor, I could hear Alexa's voice clearly.

As of this writing, invite requests are still being accepted, but will likely close as soon as Amazon's rollout is complete. Several customers have already been notified, so if you are interested in Alexa eyewear, we encourage you to submit your request soon.

Go to the Echo Frames Amazon list and complete the invitation request. Amazon will ask for your phone's operating system, whether you wear glasses, and your frame size. It would be best to answer honestly, as we don't know if there are any tips on how to increase your chances of winning.

If you are selected, you will receive an email confirming your purchase. Of course, this assumes that you are comfortable with participating in Amazon's feedback program.
