Do you want to skip Iphone12? Cheap iPhone SE2 can get fake ID and pretty big screen

Thanks to the many exciting rumors that have already leaked, we have high expectations for Apple and the iPhone this year. However, new news related to a possible iPhone SE 2 has us puzzled, pointing to an iPhone with a very strange combination of components that does not fit any of the existing rumors.

This information comes from Japanese site Mac Otakara (via MacRumors), and according to a conversation a reporter had with an exhibitor at CES 2020, Apple is working on an updated iPhone 8 with Face ID and A13 Bionic CPU instead of Touch ID version of the iPhone 8 with Face ID and an A13 Bionic CPU instead of Touch ID. It is also expected to have a larger screen than the iPhone 8.

This theoretical device would be the same size as the iPhone 8, but since the Face ID True Depth camera is smaller than the Touch ID sensor, the display size would be 5.4 inches. The current iPhone 8 screen is 4.7 inches.

The new iPhone SE 2 (or iPhone 9) will also have a larger rear camera than the iPhone 8, with a receiver the same size as the one in the iPhone 11 and iPhone XS, accompanied by an LED True Tone flash module and a larger rear camera than the iPhone 8 with an LED True Tone flash module.

Since other rumors suggest that the iPhone SE 2 will be based on the iPhone 8 with modernized components like the A13 Bionic chip, it would be a reasonable assumption that this set of specs could belong to a SE 2 variant.

There were already rumors about a second version of the iPhone SE 2, but they were not about internal differences, but about the existence of smaller and larger versions of the SE 2.

There are also rumors that the smallest version of the iPhone 12 will be a 5.4-inch model and will be sold with one (or two) of the 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch models. This could mean that this latest rumor is actually telling us how stripped down the basic version of the iPhone 12 will be, but it seems odd that Apple would sell something badged as the iPhone 12 with the previous year's CPU built in.
