These 12 Disney Plus movies quickly disappeared

If you thought Disney Plus would provide you with a steady library of movies as long as your account was active, you may have been surprised when you went looking for "Home Alone" in the New Year. This Macaulay Culkin film is just one of 12 films that disappeared from Disney Plus after the New Year.

Yes, like Netflix, Disney Plus seems to have taken unceremoniously hold of certain films in its library, including "Home Alone 2": including "Lost in New York" and "The Sandlot. The full list of films that made the cut is below. The following list of missing films was first posted by Kurt Roeder (formerly of MTV News, now of Sirius XM and Reason), who tweeted it.

but don't panic. While this loss feels contrary to a quote a Disney Plus spokesperson told Comicbook.com: "We don't offer licensed movies on a monthly 'rotating basis,'" The Verge's Julia Alexander told Comicbook.com that these 'missing' films will be returned to Disney Plus at a later date after the license expires, she reported.

Nevertheless, a New Year's resolution would be to stream all the shows and movies you want to watch now, before they disappear. Or, to accept that licensing agreements are a fact of life and that movies will always come and go from streaming services.

Of course, Netflix is always adding new releases, including the live-action remake of "Aladdin" in 2019. Check out Disney Plus' guide to new releases.
