Have you ever had a visitor but forgot to chill a bottle of wine, Juno uses thermoelectric technology to rapidly chill a bottle of wine or several cans of soda or beer in just a few minutes.

Juno is available for pre-order today for $199 and will ship in the third quarter of 2020.

According to Matrix, the company that designed Juno, it can chill a 12-ounce can of beer from 72 degrees Fahrenheit to 39 degrees in two minutes and a 750 ml bottle of wine to 49 degrees in five minutes.

The Juno works with bottles and cans up to 3.5 inches in diameter and 12.5 inches high.

Here's how it works: Thermoelectric power generation uses a phenomenon known as the Seebeck effect, in which energy is created by the temperature difference between two objects. This technology is used in space probes, power plants, and matrix power watches.

In contrast, Juno uses electricity to create a temperature difference (this is known as the Peltier effect.) When you are ready to use Juno, you place a bottle inside the machine and fill Juno with water. The Juno then chills the water and spins the bottle at high speed to remove the heat. In just a few minutes, the wine is cooled to a serving temperature.

The controls on the Juno are fairly basic, with just a few buttons and a large LED strip along one side. Temperatures are not displayed numerically, and there are no apps or anything to control them. But what is cold is cold.

Juno is by no means small. The device can sit on a countertop, but probably won't be left in place when not in use.

Like the Matrix Power Watch, the technology behind the Juno is quite intriguing. It would be a real boon for tailgaters who don't want to lug around a huge cooler full of ice.
