This hub will be a major upgrade to the meager ports on the current MacBook Pro and iPad Pro.

The hub includes HDMI and VGA outputs for video, Ethernet data, USB, SD, and Micro SD card support. A key feature is the USB-C PD pass-through capability, which allows for up to 100W of charging.

The Satechi USB-C On-The-Go Multiport Adapter is a rugged accessory for MacBooks and iPads; it costs $100, measures 4.7 x 2.4 inches, and weighs 4.4 oz. Of course, it will fit in a backpack or messenger bag, but it might stick out a bit.

Regardless, productivity-minded Apple users will choose this device for its depth of connectivity: the HDMI port supports up to 4K 60Hz output, ideal for users who want to connect to a high-resolution monitor for video or photo editing. Interestingly, there is also a VGA port capable of 1080p 60Hz output. Considering that displays have long since moved from VGA to HDMI and DisplayPort, it is curious that this analog input is included.
