The concept of the Tesla model M bike is great - and I would like 1 now

Tesla has made a huge impact on the electric vehicle industry, selling some of the best electric vehicles available. However, the company has stayed away from developing electric bikes. But what would happen if things changed and a Tesla bike was built?

Designer James Gorley has come up with a concept that showcases what a Tesla motorcycle might look like. I wish Elon Musk had not been so strident in his opposition to the bike.

Gourley named the bike the "Model M," and it looks really great. It's streamlined, aerodynamic, and has everything else Tesla has been working on to improve its cars. It just has the shape of a motorcycle. It also has a touchscreen display and a user interface similar to what you'd find in a Tesla car.

"The Model M is a premium motorcycle," Gourley explains." The gem and main feature of this machine is the top display touch screen that curves upward toward the rider and includes both day and night modes for better visibility without distractions." "It puts a wealth of content at your fingertips and provides mobile connectivity so you can easily find destinations, favorite songs and new restaurants."

The display is so large that it begs the question of maximizing the amount of information displayed and using the bike's shape to make it as unobtrusive as possible.

It is hard to argue with Tesla's impact on the electric vehicle business. The company has helped popularize the idea that electric cars are stylish and functional.

So if Tesla were to go all in on electric bikes, especially now that the company has become so well known, it could have a similar impact on the bike side of the EV industry.

However, this is unlikely to happen, as Elon Musk wants nothing to do with motorcycle production. This is because Elon Musk had a very serious accident when he was 17 years old.

He explained as much in 2018 when a shareholder asked him about the prospect of Tesla bikes: "I actually rode bikes as a kid, I was into dirt bikes for about eight years. Then I rode road bikes until I was almost killed by a truck when I was 17, so I don't plan on doing bikes."

In other words, while he certainly likes the idea and look of a Tesla motorcycle, it will almost certainly never happen. Unless Elon changes his mind drastically. Assuming his accident is the real reason Tesla is staying away from the electric motorcycle market.

After all, there is a big difference between developing a vehicle with four wheels and one that must balance on two. Tesla could easily attract the talent needed to develop a motorcycle, but it would still be a big step forward.

The fact that the company is not stretched thin by producing bikes may be a good thing, as Tesla still has plenty of room for improvement. However, one can only dream of the day when a Tesla motorcycle will be available. Even if that dream has no chance of becoming a reality.
