Dell XPS15 got killer upgrade to Fight MacBook Pro2021

Dell has announced its newly upgraded XPS 15 and XPS 17 laptops, featuring Intel's new 11th generation H-series CPUs, Nvidia's latest RTX 30 series laptop graphics cards, and OLED displays.

These XPS machines should give Apple Silicon a shot in the arm as Apple's rumored M2 chip-based MacBook Pro 2021 is on its way.

While the exteriors of both models appear to be nearly identical to the 2020 models, by comparison, the redesign of the 15-inch model and the reintroduction of the 17-inch laptop have brought more significant changes.

However, both the XPS 15 and XPS 17 will feature a more impressive spec set, including Intel's new 10nm 11th generation Tiger Lake H-series chips. Dell's new powerful XPS laptops will be offered in different processor configurations, including the 6-core i5-11400H and the 8-core i7-11800H and i9-11900H.

The 17-inch model also offers a choice of 8-core i9-11980HK processors with a maximum clock speed of 5.0 GHz. According to Dell, this special configuration will be "the most powerful XPS laptop ever."

But "powerful" doesn't stop there. Dell's new XPS laptops will feature Nvidia's latest generation of graphics cards: a 45W RTX 3050 or 3050Ti on the 15-inch model and a 60W RTX 3050 or 70W 3060 GPU on the 17-inch model.

In terms of RAM, both the XPS 15 and XPS 17 laptops will have up to 64GB. As for the display, users can choose between 4K or Full HD panels, while the 15-inch model will also feature an OLED panel.

The new XPS laptops will also have upgraded ports, with four Thunderbolt 4 ports on the 17-inch and two Thunderbolt 4 ports on the 15-inch, plus standard USB 3.2 Type-C.

According to Dell, retail pricing for the XPS 15 will start at $1,199.99 and the 17-inch model will start at $1,399.99. Unfortunately, there is no confirmation yet as to when both models will hit store shelves.
