Watching "Eternals" online on Disney Plus this week will mark the end of a very long wait: first released in November 2021, "Eternals," like "The Legend of Shang Chi and the Ten Rings," was a limited theatrical release. But now, at long last, Marvel Studios' epic tale of a pre-superhero Earth can be experienced from the comfort of your couch at home.

Marvel's "Eternals" tells the story of what happens when ageless aliens (the Eternals) are once again pitted against beasts (the Deviants) they have fought for thousands of years. These powerful beings have existed for years, but because of the events of "The Avengers," they are forced into hiding: endgame

"Eternals" unfolds over different periods of history, but in the present day, touch can transform matter Selsey (Gemma Chan) and Ikaris (Richard Madden), who feels very much like Superman because he can fly and shoot lasers from his eyes, are the de facto leaders of the group.

I won't spoil the story (I was one of the people who saw "Eternals" in theaters), but don't be surprised to see Kumail Nanjiani pull off his usual scene-stealing act as Khingo, an Eternal who is hiding in broad daylight as a Bollywood movie star. Khingo and his valet Karun (Harish Patel) bring a lot of much needed laughs to the film.

You don't have to go on an epic adventure to find "Eternals. The Eternals" will be available on Disney Plus on Wednesday, January 12 at 3 a.m. ET.

The film was released on November 5, 2021, but Disney Plus Premiere Access appears to be on hiatus and was limited to theaters.
