"Cobra Kai" Season 5 is about to begin. Season 4 just ended, and fans can't wait to see what Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio), and their karate students will do next. Fortunately, filming for "Cobra Kai" Season 5 has already been completed.

"Cobra Kai" is one of Netflix's best shows and one of the most popular series among streamers. It is a sequel to the movie "Karate Kid" and follows former rivals Johnny and Daniel as adults 30 years later. The two are once again at odds when Johnny reopens the Cobra Kai dojo and begins teaching a new generation of students. Daniel resumes Miyagikido in response, and the two students clash on the mat and at school.

In Season 4, Johnny and Daniel put their feud aside to join forces against John Crease and Terry Silver, who have taken over the Cobra Kai. If Johnny and Daniel's students win the tournament, Kreese and Silver will leave the Valley for good.

But when the Cobra Kai won and Creese was sent to prison, Daniel made a startling decision about Miyagi Road's future.

Here's everything you need to know about Cobra Kai Season 5.

Netflix has not yet set a release date for Cobra Kai Season 5. However, we can make some educated guesses as to when it might hit the streaming service.

Season 3 was released on January 1, 2021, and Season 4 was released on December 31, 2021. Season 5 could follow that timing and appear at the end of this year.

However, it could also appear sooner. Filming for Season 5 of Cobra Kai wrapped in December, and co-creator Jon Hurwitz posted a photo on Twitter with the caption "Five. Finn. #The photo also shows Josh Heald (who has many credits on the show, including co-creator, co-executive producer, and co-writer).

In Season 4, the time between the end of filming and the release of the film was seven months. If "Cobra" Season 5 follows suit, it could premiere in July or August.

The cast for "Cobra Kai" Season 5 is not yet fully confirmed, but all major cast members are expected to return.

Naturally, that list is led by William Zabka as Johnny and Ralph Macchio as Daniel Larusso.

The show will almost certainly bring back new Cobra Society boss Thomas Ian Griffiths as Terry Silver and Martin Cove as John Cleese, although he may be in jail.

Courtney Henggeler as Amanda LaRusso (Daniel's wife) and Vanessa Rubio as Carmen Diaz (Miguel's mother) should also return.

Cobra Kai Season 5 will likely bring back most of the students from the three dojos:

The finale will see the return of Yuji Okumoto as Chozen, who appears to have traveled to America to help Daniel in Miyagi Road.

When he takes over the Cobra Kai dojo, Terry has indicated that he will recruit help, which could mean the appearance of Sean Kanan as Mike Burns in Karate Kid III.

The series is currently drawing on past characters from the three Karate Kid films, leading fans to expect Hilary Swank to reprise her role as Julie Pierce in The Next Karate Kid.

Co-creator John Hurwitz was very coy about the subject in an interview with Fandom.

"All I can say about her is that I love Hilary Swank. I think she's a phenomenal actress and I love her character in this franchise. She was taught by Mr. Meagi and she's an important figure to the world of The Karate Kid. I can't tell you if she's coming back, and if she does, I can't tell you how she's coming back.

"I can tell you about her, we may have met, we may have worked together, we may not. I can't tell you anything. It will continue to be a question until either she shows up or the series ends.

The Cobra Kai season 4 finale left us with quite a few unresolved threads. The first is that Daniel decides not to honor the agreement with John Cleese that he made with Johnny. Instead of closing Miyagi Road, he calls in Chonen to go on the offensive. In Season 5, Daniel may use more aggressive tactics to defeat Cobra Kai.

Speaking of enemy dojos, Terry Silver arrested his former associate Cleese for falsely accusing him of beating up Stingray. Now he has full control of the Cobra Kai and is ready to open new locations throughout the Valley. With Daniel and Johnny leading the Rebel Alliance forces, there is a strong sense that Cobra Kai is an evil empire.

But Terry may lose two of his best students. Robbie seems to be reconsidering his "no mercy" philosophy after witnessing his subordinate Kenny bullying Anthony LaRusso. And Tory caught a glimpse of Terry bribing a tournament referee. She may decide that such unfair practices are undesirable.

And finally, there is Miguel. Miguel, a former champion, disappeared after he had to abandon the competition due to muscle pain. He left a note for his mother and Johnny, telling them he was on his way to Mexico to meet his father. Johnny vows to find him and bring him back.

Netflix has not officially ordered "Cobra Kai" season 6, but it is safe to assume that it will happen.
