Update: A new unofficial video shows off the designs of all three Samsung Galaxy S22 models.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will likely have 45W charging, an upgrade over the Galaxy S21 series' 25W charging.

That's according to regular tech tipster Roland Quandt, who posted an image of a 45W PD power adapter with Samsung branding and noted that it would be for the Galaxy S22 Ultra. While we cannot confirm this image, Quandt has a pretty solid history of accurate leaks, and this one confirms other rumors that the Galaxy S22 Ultra series will get a boost in charging wattage.

Nevertheless, other rumors say that Samsung's Galaxy S22 charging speeds may be disappointing. While we tend to think that Samsung will boost the charging speed of the Galaxy S22 series, or at least the S22 Ultra, especially since the likes of the OnePlus 9 Pro and Oppo Find X3 Pro offer 65W charging speeds, that upgrade could be a Galaxy phones feels quite late to the party.

Not that the Galaxy S21 doesn't have fast charging; it didn't ship with a 25W charger, but in our tests we were able to charge the battery to 55% in 30 minutes. The same is likely true for the Galaxy S22 series.

However, with the increased wattage, the Galaxy S22 Ultra should be able to charge the battery, which is expected to be 5,000 mAh, to 50% in 20 minutes, or significantly faster to full charge. And with things like 5G connectivity proving useful, having a phone that can charge faster than ever is definitely a useful upgrade.

Speaking of which, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is expected to be a successor to the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra rather than an upgrade to the Galaxy S21 Ultra, but with an improved camera, a new chipset that may feature AMD graphics and a very bright display. Other Galaxy S22 models are also expected to get design tweaks (though not as pronounced as the Ultra), new chips, and possible sensor upgrades for the three rear-facing cameras.

Samsung is said to unveil the Galaxy S22 series either before or during Mobile World Congress 2022 in February. Therefore, it will not be long until the official announcement of what upgrades the Galaxy S22 series will bring.
