The new Razer Blade15 boasts an RTX3080Ti GPU and a 4K display

Razer has a solid reputation for producing some of the finest gaming laptops on the market, and machines like the Razer Blade 15 Advanced and Razer Blade 17 have impressed us with their raw horsepower and sleek design. Today, at CES 2022, the company unveiled a refreshed version of the Razer Blade 15.

The Razer Blade 15 is configured with the recently announced Nvidia GeForce RTX 30 series laptop GPUs, up to RTX 3080 Ti. It is also powered by the latest 12th generation Intel Core H series CPUs (up to Intel Core i9-12900H), which have 14 more cores than the previous 8-core generation. In addition, the laptop is equipped with DDR5 memory with clock speeds up to 4800 MHz, up to 50% faster than the previous generation.

All of these features have the potential to make this product one of the best gaming laptops of 2022. Here's everything you need to know about the new Razer Blade 15.

The new Razer Blade 15 will be available for pre-order exclusively on the Razer website and Razer stores on January 25, and will be available at select retailers in Q1 2022.

The base model has an MSRP of $2499 and includes a QHD (2560 x 1440) 15.6" 240Hz display, 12th generation Intel Core i7-12800H processor, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 laptop GPU, 16GB DDR5 RAM, and 1TB of SSD storage. [UHD (3840 x 2160) 144Hz 1ms display, 12th generation Intel Core i9-12900HK processor, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti laptop GPU, 32GB DDR5 RAM, 1TB SSD storage (upgradeable to 2TB) (upgradable to 2TB) for $3999.

The new Razer Blade combines style and function. It is housed in a CNC-milled aluminum enclosure made of high-quality custom components. Laser-cut speakers and a sleek hinge design make it thin; at 0.67 x 13.98 x 9.25 inches and 4.40 pounds, it is not slim, but still small and light enough to be comfortably carried. All models are anodized matte black with a fingerprint-resistant coating.

One of the few complaints we had with previous Razer Blade laptops (such as the Razer Blade 14) was the narrow keyboard. Thankfully, the new model has a redesigned keyboard with slightly larger keys. This will provide a more ergonomic typing experience.

The base model has a 240Hz QHD (2560 x 1440) 15.6" LED display with 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, Advanced Optimus, and Nvidia G-Sync support. The non-glossy display is surrounded by micro-edge bezels measuring 4.9 mm on either side. The most expensive model has a 15.6" 144Hz 4K (3840 x 2160) display with a 1ms response time. It features a Corning Glass display surrounded by a micro-edge bezel measuring 4.9 mm on each side Razer did not provide a brightness (nits) estimate.

The Razer Blade 15 provides immersive audio for a 360-degree soundscape when listening to movies, music, and games with THX Spatial Audio, which is THX certified, via analog headphones or the device's speakers.

All configurations of the Razer Blade 15 have numerous ports. These include three USB 3.2 gen 2 Type-A ports, two Thunderbolt 4 ports (USB-C), one power port, one HDMI 2.1 port, one UHS-II SD card reader, one microphone combo jack, one Kensington lock port

All configurations are available in a variety of colors and sizes.

All configurations include a built-in 4.48V-capable 80WHr lithium polymer battery. as stated by Razer, the new 4th generation Max-Q with CPU Optimizer, Rapid Core Scaling, and Battery Boost 2.0 technology further improves efficiency, performance, and battery life.

Short battery life was another complaint about previous models. We hope the new Razer Blade 15 will provide longer gaming sessions.

According to today's announcement, the Razer Blade 15 appears to be a solid refresh of the company's gaming laptops. The 12th generation Intel Core CPU will certainly boost gaming performance, as will the RTX 30 GPU. The pre-installed Windows 11 may be a bonus for gamers, thanks to the OS' gaming features such as DirectStorage, Xbox GameBar, and Xbox Game Pass. We also appreciate that the Razer Blade's keyboard has been given a much-needed redesign, which was one of the shortcomings of previous models.

The main drawback here is the high asking price. However, considering all that the Razer Blade 15 promises to offer, it should be worth it for those who can afford it. We look forward to featuring this gaming laptop in our review.
