Google Pixel6 has just lost these 2 features due to a bug

Both the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are excellent devices and easily made our Best Android Phones list. However, a software bug forced Google to temporarily remove two handset sales features.

According to Android Authority, Google has temporarily suspended both the "Hold for Me" and "Call Screening" features due to a bug in the December 2021 security patch for Pixel phones. The patch was applied to some users, but Google suspended the full rollout until it could fix the update. According to a post on the Google support forum, a product support manager stated that "our team is actively working to resolve this issue" and that the post would be updated with any new developments.

Hold for Me is a feature first introduced in Pixel 5 that, as the name implies, allows phones to automatically respond to customer service queues. When a live agent answers a call, the phone notifies the user; with the Pixel 6, Google added the ability to easily navigate the 800-number phone menu, one of the best examples of the new phone's Tensor chip adding on-board smarts to the device.

Call screening is another useful feature, with Google Assistant screening out unwanted or unwanted calls and providing a transcript. Again, Google says that the Tensor chip makes these transcripts more accurate on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.

As noted in the support forum post linked above, it is not yet known when these features will be enabled. But that is not all that Google is currently investigating.

The pesky Pixel 6 connectivity issue is also currently being investigated. This connectivity issue seems to be limited to European users, and our team in the UK is experiencing similar 5G issues. For example, there were fewer connectivity issues when the SIM card was replaced on the iPhone 13 Pro.

At least game streaming on the Pixel 6 Pro recorded 120 fps thanks to Nvidia's GeForce Now service. Not only that, but Google continues to add more features to the phone, such as Now Playing, an ambient music identification feature, and Nearby Share, which allows Pixel 6 Pro users to easily transfer files to other devices like Apple's AirDrop. In addition, Face Unlock is also available for Pixel 6 Pro users.

In any case, Hold for Me and Call Screening are among our favorite Pixel features, so hopefully Google will issue a fix soon.
