Atlanta Season 3 Release Date, teaser trailer, cast and everything else we know

Robin's season is long gone and Atlanta Season 3 is coming soon. How soon is soon? Actually, I just found out. Also, the head of FX talks about the new season (and the one after that) as if it were an existing one that he already loves.

Yes, Donald Glover's beloved and acclaimed series Atlanta is finally coming back. And as we know, they are no longer in Atlanta. At least not at first. Oh, and Grover is so proud of the upcoming season that he says, "While im here: s3 + s4 of Atlanta is going to be the best TV ever. The only thing that can touch us is The Sopranos."

Here's what we know about "Atlanta" Season 3.

According to Deadline, FX has announced that "Atlanta" Season 3 will air on March 24. The first two episodes will premiere that night and will be available on Hulu the following day.

This is in line with what FX president John Landgraf told Collider, who said that Atlanta Season 3 is "listed as one of the things we're bringing back in the first half of 2022.

The executive was complimentary of the Atlanta Season 3 and Season 4 scripts (specifically saying, "I absolutely love these scripts") and acknowledged that the lack of a release date for Season 3 has to do with the ongoing production of Season 4.

The next Atlanta Season 3 teaser trailer will be released on December 25 and will air during the NBA Christmas game.

Sun Ra's "It's After The End of The World" will take over this unscripted teaser for Atlanta Season 3. In the trailer, we don't see Arn, but we do see Al/Paper Boi in a sweater that says "FAKE" in neon yellow. He sits at a table and seems confused about a number of things. Others in the room are staring at the wall.

The clip was shared by Donald Glover on Halloween night (October 31) on the site Gilga.com. The site, interestingly, does not function before 8:00 PM, and the "WHILE UNDER CONSTRUCTION, GILGA IS A "NITE-SITE" OPERATIONAL HOURS ARE 8PM-3AM (Gilga is a "NITE-SITE" due to construction)" error message.

Will clips and teases from Atlanta Season 3 be dropped on this site in the future?

We have received unequivocal confirmation that Atlanta is Core 4: Donald Glover (as Arn Marks), Brian Tyree Henry (as Alfred "Paper Boi" Miles), Lakeith Stanfield (as Darius Epps), Zazie Beetz (as Vanessa Kiefer), all four returning, as confirmed by Instagram posts of the four (or at least four pixelated people who look a lot like them) on the set in April 2021, when production began.

Of course, we expect more names to be announced or revealed, but nothing official yet.

As mentioned, filming for Season 3 of Atlanta began in April 2021. As seen in Donald Glover's Instagram post, the show is being filmed in Europe, such as the shot below, which appears to have been taken at an Amsterdam cafe called Cafe Brandon.

This change of scenery makes sense. You may remember that the last time Arn, Al, and Darius were seen was on their way to that part of the world to perform on Paperboy's Clark County European tour.

And about this European tour. Atlanta Season 3 may see a resetting of tensions, with the big question being whether or not Al will drop Arn as manager, as things have been pretty testy between the two of them.

At the TSA check at the airport, Arn earned Al's respect by removing the gun from his bag and placing it in a Clark County bag. Al later expressed his gratitude and respect to Arn on the plane, explaining that he had seen it all and that Arn represented the right type of coach. Al had been in trouble all season, being unilaterally robbed by other players, and this was exactly the kind of loyalty he wanted emotionally.

Al concluded his speech by saying, "You give a f#$%, I need that. " Then they saw Clark on the plane and the manager revealed that he was responsible for the gun. Then, as Clark walks away, saying, "I wish it had been mine," he shouts, "Yuck!" Arn reveals that he put it in Clark's bag, not the manager's.

This creates a situation where Arn is the only manager on the tour and has to manage two egos.

As for Arn and Van. This is a reset in another way. At a parent-teacher conference they learn that their young daughter, Lottie, is gifted. And their homeroom teacher wants to enroll Lottie in an expensive school. Arn decides to use the income she earns from working for Al to pay for tuition at this school, but even after this good news, her relationship with Van is at a crossroads.

She wants Lottie to live with her mother, and the vision of a "happy two-parent family" that Lottie's homeroom teacher had described may not be realized when Arn and his family return from Europe.
