The Witcher Season 2 Release Date and Time — Here's when you can see

Witcher fans rejoice! Because the fantasy drama is finally back on Netflix with new episodes! Season 2 of "The Witcher" premieres this week, bringing more monster-hunting and sorcery adventures to Henry Cavill's Geralt of Rivia.

If it feels like it's been forever since "The Witcher" Season 1, it dropped in December 2019, aka Before Times. Filming for Season 2 began in early 2020, but was interrupted in March due to a pandemic. Cast member Christopher Hivju tested positive for COVID-19 and filming was halted. Filming resumed, then was suspended and resumed again throughout last year.

When filming was finally completed, showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hislich released a behind-the-scenes teaser, stating that "The Witcher" Season 2 had a crew of 1,200 and a cast of 89, spending 158 days on set. Speaking of Hisrich, he has already addressed fan backlash (spoiler alert) about how Eskel will change in "The Witcher" Season 2!

And the hard work seems to be paying off, as the reviews for "The Witcher Season 2" have been mostly positive. This eager anticipation is fueling a sense of anticipation among fans. The Witcher is already one of the most popular shows on Netflix (No. 2 in 2019, according to streamers). Season 2, our pick of new movies and shows to watch this weekend, could top the list this year.

The Witcher Season 2 is available on Netflix and arrives today, Friday, December 17, at 3:00 AM ET.

Season 2 consists of eight episodes, all of which (as is Netflix's wont) will be available simultaneously.
