"Spider-Man No Way Home" does not break the MCU's tradition of offering additional scenes as a thank you to audiences who see the credits to the end.

While some Marvel films use post-credits scenes for comedic purposes, the MCU's post-credits scenes are meant to preview future developments in the interconnected comic franchise or even hint at new characters that will join this universe in the future

Thankfully, the MCU is not a "one-stop shop.

Thankfully, a pair of post-credit scenes in Spider-Man: No Way Home fall into the latter category. If you're wondering how these scenes will affect the MCU in the future, you've come to the right place.

As you might imagine, this article contains complete spoilers for "Spider-Man: No Way Home" and its two post-credit scenes. Do not continue reading until you have seen the film yourself. Trust us, you don't want to be spoiled ahead of time. Oh, and there's one more thing we want to talk about (spoiler alert: you're missing the biggest Easter egg in "Spider-Man: No Way Home").

If you stayed until the very end of "Venom: Let There Be Carnage," Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) was transported to the MCU by a sudden flash of light in the post-credits scene. The first post-credits scene in No Way Home picks up this plot thread.

We see Eddie Brock/Venom in a tropical bar, thanks to a helpful bartender (Ted Russo's Christo Fernandez), catching up on the events of the MCU so far. Venom would rather go skinny dipping.

Just as he prepares to leave the bar, Doctor Strange's spell to return everyone to their original universe is cast, and Brock disappears in a flash of light, as do the other Spider-Men and villains. Everything is back to normal and it seems that the MCU is once again without Venom, but it is revealed that the alien creature has left behind a small black goo. Just before the credits resumed, we saw it move along the bar top.

Venom seems to have been returned to his own universe (often called the Sonyverse). The post-credits scene in Let There Be Carnage was supposed to set up Venom joining the MCU and possibly facing off against Tom Holland's Spider-Man in a future film. However, that may no longer be true. As of now, Eddie Brock and Venom are back in their own universe, completely separate from the MCU.

Not that Venom's brief trip to the MCU has not made an impact. That little black goo will almost certainly cause problems down the road. Maybe he will stick with Spider-Man, played by Holland, or maybe we will see an MCU version of Eddie Brock teaming up with the symbiote. There is also a new demand for this Eddie Brock to appear in The Amazing Spider-Man 3.

Given how popular Tom Hardy has become as Eddie Brock, it seems an odd decision for the MCU to have its own version of Eddie Brock. There is also the option of being the host of Spidey's nemesis, Flash Thompson.

It remains to be seen how Eddie Brock's journey to the MCU and the little piece of black goo left behind by Venom will affect both universes, but the post-credits scene is sure to be time-sensitive.

The second "Spider-Man No Way Home" post-credit scene is truly a post-credit trailer. Much like how Marvel used "Captain America": just as Marvel used "The First Avenger" as a place to showcase the trailer for the first "Avengers" film, the latest Spider-Man film ends with a sneak peak of "Doctor Strange 2".

The trailer has already leaked online, but an official version has not yet been released. Therefore, it is perfectly acceptable to keep watching the very long credits of "No Way Home" to the end. So much is foretold and introduced in this trailer that it would take an entire article to cover it all. But perhaps the biggest takeaway is the sinister-looking Doctor Strange doppelganger.

This is the Disney Plus show "What If...?" and may be a darker version of Stephen Strange, known as Strange Supreme, who appeared in the first season of the Disney Plus show "What If...?

If so, the magical sequel would be the first time a character from an alternate reality animated show has appeared in the MCU. Those who originally skipped this show may want to catch up between now and May.

"Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" appears to have multiple ties to the Disney Plus show. Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen), who appears to be living in solitude at the moment in the trailer, also returns. There are also direct references to the Westview events that took place at Wanda Vision.

Other reveals in the trailer include the return of Christine (Rachel McAdams) and Baron Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor). Also, "If..." also features a giant green creature that may be Shuma-Gorath, who appeared in Captain Carter's episode of "What If...?
