Rancilio's Silvia Pro X, unveiled at the HostMilano trade show in October, is now available for purchase in the United States. The latest in the brand's domestic line, this high-end espresso machine is the successor to the previous Silvia Pro model, but has added some impressive features in the process. The Rancilio Silvia Pro X is priced at $1,895 and is available at Seattle Coffee Gear and Whole Latte Love.

Lovers of the best coffee makers will recognize many of the new features that hit the Pro X. The most noticeable change is a new brew pressure gauge and a front control panel that distinguishes the newest model from the previous one. But there are plenty of upgrades under the hood to get the home barista excited.

Perhaps the biggest is a new feature that Rancilio calls Variable Soft Infusion. Before brewing begins, this system slowly soaks the pack with water. This helps prevent so-called channeling, in which water is dispersed into the coffee pack at different rates in certain areas, weakening the flavor and causing the brew to be inconsistent. Not only that, but with dual boilers, extraction and steamed milk can be done at the same time without lowering the temperature in either system.

The Rancilio Silvia Pro X is currently available for order in the US, but as mentioned above this is by no means an inexpensive coffee maker. However, if you're willing to go all in on your investment, you can customize your order thanks to interchangeable side panels and accent colors.

Rancilio is well known in the commercial coffee space, but is just getting started with its Homeline sub-brand, which was established in 2019. These coffeemakers still offer high-end features and extraction quality, but are designed to be much easier to place on home countertops.
