The Samsung Galaxy Book2Pro has just put in a chip for its launch in early 2022

Samsung proved that it can be taken seriously as a laptop maker earlier this year with the launch of the Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360. The latter, in particular, earned four out of five stars in reviews of the Samsung Galaxy Pro 360.

Given how well received Samsung's latest laptops have been - not to mention the amount of money and energy the company has invested in shipping ultraportables in 2021 - it is not surprising that the Korean manufacturer is poised to release successors to these laptops in 2022, to make our best laptop list. It is not surprising that Korean manufacturers are poised to release successors to these laptops to make our best laptops list in 2022.

This is what we are hearing this week courtesy of SamMobile, which claims to have obtained exclusive information on the upcoming Galaxy Book Pro series laptops. According to the site, Samsung plans to release the Galaxy Book 2 Pro and Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360 in the first quarter of 2022.

The company will continue to use OLED screens in these next-generation Windows laptops, and while the site has not obtained information on machine specifications, the laptops will use Intel's 12th-generation Alder Lake or AMD's Zen 4-based Ryzen 6000 series processors based on Intel's 12th generation Alder Lake or AMD's Zen 4. We believe this is a reasonable assessment, as is the expected improvement in graphics performance and battery life in high-end configurations.

Both laptops should be tightly integrated with Samsung's tablets and phones, as seen with the current models. And that's a big deal.

As we noted earlier this year, Samsung's Galaxy Book Pro is shaking up laptops, including the MacBook, as the company tightly integrates laptops, Galaxy smartphones, and Android devices in general. The option to connect a laptop to an Android smartphone and run phone apps on the desktop, take calls, and easily access photos, messages, and notifications is a wonderfully useful feature. There's no reason why Samsung's new model shouldn't include this feature as well.

We are also pleased with Samsung's claim that it will keep the OLED screen from the current Galaxy Book Pro model; as we noted in our Galaxy Book Pro 360 review, the colors on this display are vibrant and watching videos and movies on this device fine details appear to stand out. While it is unclear whether the new laptop will feature a 4K display (the current generation laptops do not), the upgrade would be a welcome one - especially in high-end configurations. a 4K OLED screen would greatly help Samsung establish a larger presence in the US laptop market.

Reported.

The reported launch date - during the first three months of 2022 - seems somewhat outlandish; while one might like to think there will be an official announcement at CES 2022 in January, industry rumors about this laptop have gone unheard until now. This is unusual, given that specs and other details are leaking right now.

We're not going to completely rule out a Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro announcement next month, but we're not betting against it either.
