With the release of the film "Black Adam" fast approaching, we are excited for this opportunity to see Dwayne Johnson embody a being as powerful and rambunctious as his wrestling persona. It is Tess-Adam, aka Black Adam, a magical being whose origins date back 5,000 years, but who has come far into the present day to take on the pre-Justice League team.

But when will we actually see a Black Adam movie? And how much of an anti-hero will he be? We delve into the comic's history and recent press events to find out all about it. Also, scroll down to check out a new look at DJ as Black Adam!

As Director Johnson teases, Black Adam is not necessarily a good guy. The premise of the film, which depicts his origins thousands of years ago and then brings him closer to the present day, is based on his defiance of how psychics should act.

Johnson said of Black Adam on social media, "He is magically endowed with powers comparable to Superman, but the difference is that he doesn't follow the norm and walk the line. He is a rebel, a one-of-a-kind superhero who always does the right thing for the people.

Black Adam will be released on July 29, 2022. This would be the second release date for the film after it was not released at all for a long time. Johnson originally announced a December 22, 2021 release date in November 2019. Johnson made this announcement by taking over a billboard in Times Square and shared it on a social networking video.

Since then, the COVID-19 pandemic has caused the film's release date to become a whirlwind of delays, and the film "Black Adam" has lost its release date. Now, the producers of "Black Adam" are apparently waiting for everything to smooth out before announcing a new and hopefully final release date.

In a new preview clip of "Black Adam" unveiled at DC Fandome 2021, we see Dwayne in armor. We also got to meet his supporting cast. And he incinerated a man's skull into ashes in the actual footage.

The first trailer for the film "Black Adam" feels more like an animatic, a series of sketches animated into a video, than a finished trailer. This is because all that has been released so far is a teaser video that DC released at the Fandom event (basically the comic book publisher's own online comic con). In it, we "meet" Tess-Adam, a citizen of Qandak (a fictional African country located near Egypt and Jordan) and one of the citizens who was shackled and imprisoned 5,000 years ago. 'I'm free now,' he tells us."

Just this week, The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Pierce Brosnan is joining the cast of Black Adam as Doctor Fate, since DC fans will know that Doctor Fate is a founding member of the JSA He will be one of the main antagonists facing off against Black Adam, played by The Rock.

The first Black Adam movie was set back in September 2014, with Dwayne Johnson tapped to play the titular character; in 2020, Noah Centineo was tapped to play Justice Society of America character Atom Smasher in July, Casting was brought up. Then in September, Aldis Hodge joined as Hawkman, and in December, Quintessa Swindell joined as Cyclone. As noted above, Pierce Brosnan signed on in March 2021.
