Another leaker lists a release date for Samsung's next smartphone, so we will likely see the Samsung Galaxy S22 lineup in early February.

The latest person to weigh in on Samsung's Galaxy S22 launch plans is Ice Universe, a leaker with a pretty good track record on smartphone information, especially as it relates to Samsung. In a tweet, this leaker suggests that the Galaxy S22 Ultra's debut date could be February 8. Presumably, the rest of the S22 lineup will also appear around that time.

Ice Universe's tweet does not read as a blanket prediction of a February 8 launch event for the S22 family. Rather, the context seems to suggest that the Galaxy S22 will arrive much later than other phones with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset that were just announced last week.

However, the February 8 date did not appear out of thin air. Just as another leaker, John Prosser, predicted that S22 would debut around that time.

Indeed, the consensus among Samsung watchers is that the new flagship phone will appear at some point in February, with rumors that Samsung will use January to roll out the Galaxy S21 FE. Another rumor claims that the Galaxy S22 launch could be linked to next year's Mobile World Congress in late February, which would push the S22 launch even further back than the other Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 devices that have already debuted this month This would mean.

Samsung's track record to date is of no help when it comes to pinpointing the Galaxy S22's arrival date. For the past few years, the release date of the Galaxy S flagship model has zigzagged back and forth on the calendar at Samsung's whim.

The Galaxy S21, for example, appeared at this year's event on January 14, as Samsung tried to jumpstart smartphone sales by launching it earlier than usual. Previously, the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S10 were announced at events on February 11 and February 20 of their respective launch years.

We can look to Samsung's past actions to know when the Galaxy S22 will actually ship. In past years, the Galaxy S has been in stores two to three weeks after the launch event; assuming the February 8 launch date is true, the Galaxy S22 would ship in the last week of February.

The Galaxy S22 is expected to come in three models: the standard S22, S22 Plus (or Pro), and S22 Ultra. the S22 and S22 Plus are expected to look very similar to the S21, while the S22 Ultra is expected to look much like the Galaxy Note phablet The S22 Ultra could look similar to the Galaxy Note phablet. The S22 Ultra may also feature an S Pen, as Samsung added stylus support to the S21 Ultra this year.

Rumors suggest that Samsung may upgrade the main and telephoto lenses on the S22 and S22 Plus, and the S22 Ultra will rely on improved sensors and better computed photography.
