Apple Fitness+ users can walk with Prince William on Monday — here's how

Royal family fans, get ready to walk with Prince William. In a rare occurrence for a member of the British royal family, the Duke of Cambridge has recorded a Time to Walk broadcast for Apple Fitness Plus.Time to Walk broadcasts can be listened to on the Apple Watch and are designed to be listened to while walking (Apple Watch (If you do not have an Apple Watch, please see How to Choose the Best Apple Watch).

In the recording, which will be released on Monday, December 6, Prince William will talk about the importance of staying mentally healthy, the importance of listening to others, and when he was taken out of his comfort zone. The Duke will also mention an experience that led him to make his own mental health a priority. In keeping with the format of the program, the Duke of Cambridge will also choose three songs and talk about why they are important to him.

"Time to Walk" was created as a way to encourage people to walk more by immersing them in the stories of others. Past guests have included Dolly Parton, Stephen Fry, Shawn Mendes, and Anthony Joshua. Episodes are usually recorded as guests walk through places that are meaningful to them, and include lessons learned, meaningful memories, and thoughts on thought-provoking topics.

It is not yet clear where Prince William recorded the episode or if photos will be included, but listeners will find out on Monday. Prince William lives at Kensington Palace in London with his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The entire journey takes 38 minutes.

Apple also announced that the episode is now available for free as a special broadcast on Apple Music 1, Apple Music's global radio station, to make it available to a wider audience. Listeners in London can tune in on Monday, December 6 at 8:00 a.m. GMT, and listeners in Los Angeles can tune in on Monday, December 6 at 8:00 a.m. PST. Australian listeners can watch in Sydney on Tuesday, December 7 at 8:00 a.m. GMT.

Apple has confirmed that it will donate to three charities of Prince William's choice: Crisis Text Line in the US, Shout 85258 in the UK, and Lifeline in Australia. Duke William has been outspoken about the importance of mental health; in a BBC documentary on mental health aired in 2019, Prince William said he felt a "pain like no other pain" after the death of his mother, Princess Diana.
