Samsung, like almost all phone makers, is gradually increasing the size of its phones; in 2015, the company's flagship device had a 5.1-inch display, but last year's Galaxy S21, after a steady bi-annual inflation, started at 6.2 inches Starting with.

With next year's Samsung Galaxy S22, both the Galaxy S22 and S22 Pro/Plus will be downsized to 6.06" and 6.55", respectively, and the company appears to be trying to reverse this. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is a replacement for the Galaxy Note 22 except for the name, and is set to retain its 6.81-inch frame.

The raw numbers don't give us a picture of what it will look like when held in the hand. However, the leaker Ice Universe gave us something to put the three models into perspective: what appears to be a screen protector for each model, showing how they would look side by side.

The vanilla Galaxy S22 certainly looks noticeably smaller than the other two, reminiscent of the 2019 5.8-inch Samsung Galaxy S10e.

Do people want smaller phones? Well, it's a bit of a gamble, given that even Apple is struggling to shift to mini versions of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13, which apparently won't exist as a form factor in the next generation.

But this isn't really that big of a screen shrink. If the rumors are correct, that would mean a shrinkage of 0.14" and 0.15", respectively. It may seem a little different, but it won't be noticeable unless both generations of phones are placed next to each other.

Otherwise, the screen protectors confirm what we've heard before: very thin bezels and cutouts for the hole-punch cameras are on all three. This means that the underwhelming under-display camera on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will not be on this Galaxy S line. Also, the Galaxy S22 and S22 Pro/Plus both have flat displays, but the Galaxy S22 Ultra is slightly curved, giving it a more premium look.

Meanwhile, another leaker, Rodent950, appears to have obtained camera lens protectors for all three models.

Interestingly, the "Ultra" version retains the "P" shape seen in early leaks. However, it is unlikely that this will be reflected in the phone itself, with the latest Jon Prosser leak showing a series of circles rather than the divisive "P" outline.
