Peter Jackson Tells the Story of the Making of "Let It Be": "The Beatles: Get Back," a documentary in which Peter Jackson tells the story of the making of "Let It Be," was released today on Disney Plus. Jackson leaves Middle-earth and travels back in time to London in 1969, when the Beatles recorded their 12th and final studio album, "Let It Be" (originally titled "Get Back").

The documentary uses footage shot for Michael Lindsay-Hogg's 1970 documentary on the album. The director chose to focus on the camaraderie and friendship shown by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, rather than the acrimony that haunted the recording of "Let It Be".

Here's how to watch The Beatles: here's how to watch "Get Back" on Disney Plus (one of the best streaming services).

The Beatles: The documentary "The Beatles: Get Back" will premiere its first episode on Disney Plus on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 25 at 3 a.m. ET.

Episode 2 will be available on Friday, November 26 at 3:00 a.m. ET. Episode 3 will follow on Saturday, November 27 at 3:00 a.m. ET.

Disney Plus is available in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mauritius, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, so access will not be difficult.

"Get Back" takes the audience back to a somewhat frenetic time when the band was trying to write 14 new songs for their first live show in two years. With the walls against them, the Beatles rely on their bond, their humor, and their creative talents to meet the deadline. This documentary series will show for the first time the Beatles' final live performance as a group, a rooftop concert on London's Savile Row.

Jackson did not interview the surviving Beatles, McCartney and Starr for this documentary, preferring to stay in the moment, on the rooftop in 1969. Also, unusually for Disney Plus, the documentary contains explicit language, mature themes, and smoking.
