This new 3—in-1 wireless charger is the world's first - and I need it now

The Apple Watch 7 charges faster than its predecessor, but only with the right cable. And until now, owners of Apple's newest smartwatch have had no choice but to obtain an optimized charger from Apple itself.

The first third-party accessory to support fast charging for the Apple Watch 7, Belkin's new $150 BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 wireless charging pad, is now available. According to the product description, the pad charges the Apple Watch Series 7 from 0 to 80% in 45 minutes.

In addition to the obvious spot for the Apple Watch, the BoostCharge Pro also has a spot that can charge an iPhone and AirPods simultaneously. And as someone who carries around a collection of Apple devices on a daily basis, I think I need this wireless charging pad.

Currently, my nightstand is a mess of cables that I usually choose to ignore instead of organizing them, and since the Apple Watch 7's new charging coil has basically rendered my MagSafe Duo charger useless, I'm I reverted to installing separate cords. But then I got my new AirPods 3 and a second Lightning cable joined the chaos.

The best wireless chargers with multiple docking options are nothing new. In fact, Belkin already makes one that lets you place your AirPods in the middle of the Apple Watch band loop. But no product yet supports one of the Apple Watch 7's top features; Belkin also includes a 40W wall adapter, but if you're willing to pay $150 for a charging pad, expect nothing less.

And if I decide I don't need the full pad (it's less convenient to travel with than my cluster of cords), I can opt for the $50 BoostCharge Pro portable fast charger for Apple Watch. This little pad requires power via a built-in 1.2 meter USB-C cable, so it's not really portable, but it's an attractive dock for those who appreciate the Apple Watch's nightstand mode. However, this charging accessory does not come with a wall adapter.

Both new wireless chargers support Apple Watch 7 sizes, expanding from 40mm and 44mm to 41mm and 45mm options. Nevertheless, older Apple Watch models can also be charged with the Belkin BoostCharge Pro pad; while it may not charge as fast as the Apple Watch 7, we tested Apple's new Magnetic-USB-C cord and found it to be quite fast for Apple Watch 6 Apple Watch 6.

Belkin's BoostCharge Pro accessories are currently available at Belkin and apple.com; Belkin is one of the few third-party brands accepted by Apple retailers, so it is likely that we will see them in physical stores soon.

In the meantime, the company has been working on a new product, a new camera.

In the meantime, expect to receive Series 7 Apple Watch Black Friday information. We'll be monitoring Black Friday deals around the clock, so keep it locked to Tom's Guide for the latest Apple Watch discounts. Maybe you'll even put the money you save toward a new Belkin charging pad.
