iOS 15.1.1 Fixes important iPhone bug - Update Now

Have you noticed the iPhone updates over the past few days? Apple has released iOS 15.1.1, which addresses a critical bug in the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13. What bug? Since the release of iOS 15.1 last month, some users have noticed that their calls are disconnecting more frequently than they should.

That's obviously not ideal, so iOS 15.1.1 is an important update to install ASAP. Most of our iPhone 13 units received the update last night, and I noticed that it was quite large at 2.2 GB on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. So make sure you start the update process while you're in the comfort of your home or office so you don't accidentally have an inoperable phone while it's updating itself.

The cause of this call disconnect bug is unknown, but it seems to only affect the iPhone 12 and 13 series, so it must be related to 5G. Apple has not revealed the exact cause, so my guess may be off.

If you experienced this bug on your iPhone 12 or iPhone 13, update to iOS 15.1.1 as soon as possible if you haven't already. Other iPhones - including the 6S and above - will still get the point version update, but we're not sure if any of the non-5G devices will benefit in any way. Apple just prefers that all supported devices be the same version, which we think is best.

Hopefully iOS 15.1.1 won't bring any new bugs. as we approach iOS 15.2, whenever that is, we'll keep an eye out for new features you can expect. If you're still discovering all the new features, be sure to check out our iOS 15 review to learn all about the new features for your iPhone.
