Emily in Paris - Season 2 Trailer, Release date, Cast and more

"Emilie in Paris" Season 2 is out, and Netflix's romantic comedy is really starting to heat up in the city of love with the first trailer for part two. Emily's life becomes even more chaotic, dramatic, and complicated - and as Sylvie says, she is becoming more French by the day.

"Emilie in Paris" was the most popular comedy on Netflix in 2020, reaching 58 million households. The show centers on Emily Cooper (Lily Collins), a 20-something Chicago marketing manager who unexpectedly lands her dream job in Paris. She arrives ready to revamp the social media strategy of a luxury French marketing firm, but is met with strong opposition from her demanding boss, Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu), and her snobbish colleagues. She does not speak French.

Once in Paris, Emily makes a new friend, aspiring singer Mindy (Ashley Park), and gets involved in several romances. One is her neighbor, the handsome chef Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), who turns out to have a girlfriend named Camille (Camille Lazat).

The second season will see Emily learn more languages, find new romance, and continue to juggle work and social media stardom.

Here is what we know so far about "Emily in Paris" season 2.

Netflix has set a December 22 release date for "Emily in Paris" Season 2. The premiere was confirmed at Netflix's TUDUM event in September.

On November 11, 2020, Netflix announced the order for "Emilie in Paris" Season 2 via a "letter" from Sylvie, requesting that her firm's parent company extend Emily's time with the Savoir.

"Despite her overconfident demeanor and lack of experience in luxury goods marketing, she nevertheless managed to charm our less-than-impressive clients," Sylvie wrote. 15]

"We are delighted that Emily will extend her stay in Paris. to further deepen the relationships she has already established, delve more deeply into our culture, and perhaps learn a few basic French words"

Netflix has released the first full trailer for "Emily in Paris" Season 2, which begins with Emily explaining to her best friend Mindy that she slept with Gabrielle. But now the sexy chef is staying in Paris, and his girlfriend Camille suspects why.

The trailer gives glimpses of Emily attending an avant-garde fashion show, traveling to a gorgeous coastal town, touring a cemetery, and kissing a man she has never met.

Previously, Netflix released several teaser videos. The first one, which accompanies the announcement video about season two, features the cast cheekily saying "Deux" (two in French). Emily herself seems to know that French word.

The cast video first revealed the start of production on Season 2 of "Emilie in Paris" and celebrated the show as the service's most popular comedy.

The cast of "Emily in Paris" is led by Emily Cooper, played by Lily Collins, a young marketing executive from Chicago sent to Paris to work at the Savoir.

Several new cast members will join "Emily in Paris" season 2.

Lucien Laviscant ("Scream Queens") plays Alfie, described as "a 30-year-old, London-born cynic who refuses to immerse himself in French culture, preferring instead to have a drink in an English-speaking pub."

Jeremy O. Harris guest stars as Gregory Elliot Dupree, a fashion designer and protégé of Pierre Cadeau.

French actor Arnaud Binard plays nightclub owner Laurent G. According to EW.com, Emily "meets him at an event, but soon discovers that his connection to Savoir is more complicated than marketing."

Season 2 of "Emily in Paris" should begin where season 1 left off. Thanks to her successful fashion show for Pierre Cadeau, Emily has finally earned the respect of her boss, Sylvie, and kept her job in Paris.

However, her love life became even more complicated and confusing. Let's recap: Emilie is caught in a love triangle with her sexy downstairs neighbor, chef Gabriel, and his girlfriend, Camille. Meanwhile, Emilie is being followed by several men, including Antoine, a flirtatious client, and Mathieu Cadeau, a fashion businessman.

In the finale, Gabrielle broke up with Camille to move to Normandy to open her own restaurant. Emilie shrugged off a trip to St. Tropez with Mathieu to say goodbye to Gabrielle, and the two joined her in bed. The next morning she learned that Antoine had invested in Gabriel's Paris restaurant, and Gabriel did not leave after all. Camille texted Emily the news and asked if they could talk. Oops.

So what awaits us in Season 2? As creator Darren Star told TVLine, "I think what happens in the next chapter will be a true exploration of how the relationship between these three characters evolves. Season 2 will pave the way for an interesting and surprising relationship."

The show's "The Last of Us" will be the first season of the show to feature the three characters.

The show received a large amount of flack for Emily's naivete and complete lack of language skills. In Season 2, Emily will grow up a bit, Starr told OprahMag.com. 'She will become more a part of the world she lives in. She will become more of a city dweller. She will be a little more grounded. She's making a life there."

Starr explained to Variety that since the first season covered a short period of time, season two will see Emily "embrace the city a little more."

"When she got there, it was a bit of a free pass in the beginning. I think she will assimilate more in terms of stepping up to the challenge of living in Paris and learning the language."

And fans can look forward to "unexpected stories" in the romance department.

"There was a twist at the end of the first season that she didn't see coming.
